I came up with this image in my sketchbook in 2023 because I wanted to say something about how I felt about Valentines day.
Over the years, especially when we are teenagers, the pressure of receiving a Valentine gift or card can be soul destroying. Luckily it isn’t the 1970’s anymore and we are progressing so much with self-care and mindfulness.
If only we loved ourselves more than we sometimes need the love of others.
Maybe this is something that comes with age, experience or with doing the work and having some therapy to raise our self esteem.
